This June, Brooklyn’s theatre scene will spotlight a powerful new voice as local female playwright Caylie Filipa brings her two-play production, These Are the Rules, to the stage at Brooklyn Art Haus. Presented by Superposition House, an emerging indie theatre collective, the debut marks the group’s first official New York City production—blending raw drama with darkly comedic undertones.
Two Bold Stories. One Unforgettable Night.
Written by Filipa, These Are the Rules features two original works that dig into themes of domestic conflict, emotional survival, and power dynamics. The plays stand alone in tone, yet complement each other with thematic depth and an unflinching emotional core.
This World Is Mine is a visceral exploration of trauma and self-agency. Filipa dives deep into the emotional aftermath of survival, posing the question: what does it mean to truly reclaim your story?
Game Night offers a pivot into dark comedy. What starts as a casual social gathering gradually unravels into a sharp and uncomfortable exploration of connection, competition, and quiet control.
Both works embody Filipa’s distinct voice, emotionally layered, honest, and cut with sharp, intentional humor that reveals as much as it entertains.
Meet Superposition House
This premiere also introduces Superposition House, a Brooklyn-based theatre collective founded by Emilia Littin-Egaña, Abigail Rhyne, and Rohan Padmakumar. The group aims to amplify new voices and tell stories that challenge traditional narratives while staying grounded in real-life experience.
Their debut production underscores a clear commitment: to uplift stories that provoke, connect, and reflect voices often sidelined in mainstream theatre.
